Family and Friends Time

Did you know that nearly one in four adults over sixty-five are considered socially isolated?

Everyone needs social connections to survive and thrive. But as people age, they often find themselves spending more time alone. Being alone may leave older adults more vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation, which can affect their health and well-being.

Time spent with family and friends is a wonderful remedy. Visiting with loved ones or friends can help seniors get out of the house and interact with others. Just getting together to sit outside on a patio, walk in a park or beach reinforces social connections and can be relaxing and fun. These interactions can be special times to look forward to on a weekly or monthly basis.
