Grasping a tumbler or glass that is wet and cold can be challenging. Take some colorful rubber bands and wrap them around a favorite plastic tumbler or cup to make it easier to hold. You can even make it  fun and let your loved one help to decorate with the rubber bands.

Heaping plates filled with food at mealtimes can seem overwhelming for seniors. Rather than sticking to just the usual breakfast, lunch, and dinner routine, try offering smaller portions of food served four or five times a day. Smaller, frequent meals can help to increase intake and encourage a more varied healthy diet with fruit, a protein snack, or a fresh vegetable.
